Martzoukou et al. (2023) highlight digital competency gaps among nursing students, advocating tailored interventions to bridge these divides. Many manufacturing sectors (see Prokhorova & Zalutska, 2020; Gajdzik & Wolniak, 2022) face similar digital transformation challenges, but often lack rigorous, discipline-specific digital skills scaffolding for their workers. This research would synthesize digital literacy frameworks from healthcare education and apply them to manufacturing operations, designing and testing interventions that target information literacy, digital creation, and innovation competencies among shop-floor workers. By cross-pollinating digital upskilling strategies across fields, the study could unlock new pathways to productivity and foster a culture of bottom-up innovation.
