Multiple Succession LLMs

Assume for a moment that there is a generic successor function in LLMs, i.e., that pushes 1->2, B->C, Monday->Tuesday. What happens there are are two potential successors, e.g., with red it could be green (RGB) or Orange (ROYGBV)? Are there multiple 'senses' of the notion of 'red' in this case or is this resolved differently somehow?
