While most studies focus on barriers, this idea flips the script: What enables success within excluded groups? Building on Badejo et al.’s work with formerly incarcerated populations, we’d conduct longitudinal qualitative interviews with "outliers" who achieved digital inclusion despite limited resources. Novelty lies in shifting from deficit-based frameworks to asset-based models, identifying factors like informal mentorship networks, adaptive tech use (e.g., USSD banking), or psychological resilience. This could reveal scalable interventions—e.g., peer-led digital mentorship programs—that existing literature overlooks.
